GATE Registration 2018

The brief details of GATE Registration is given below:

1. All the candidates have to apply online only.
2. GATE registration 2018 has been started from the 1st September 2017.
3. The registration will be done till the 5th October 2017.
4. Aspirants have to fill the form by login into GATE official site.
5. Aspirants have to fill GATE 2018 application form through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
6. Candidates have to register as a “New User”.
7. Provide the system with all the necessary information asked.
8. After successful registration, they will get the access to GOAPS.
9. Thereafter, they are required to login using GOAPS Enrollment ID and GOAPS Password.
10. While filling the application form, students need to upload scanned photograph, signature, degree certificate and category certificate.
11. Follow the above steps carefully.
12. International candidates are also eligible to apply.
13. GATE 2018 will be conducted in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates.
14. Application procedure for international candidates is same as Indians.
15. International candidates must possess a valid passport to apply.

Registration Fee

Candidates can pay the application fee via Net banking, debit card or e-chalan.  GATE 2018 registration fee details is given below:

GATE Eligibility Criteria

Read below to know in detail about the GATE Eligibility Criteria. You need to have one of the following Educational qualifications to be eligible to apply for GATE 2018 exam.

·         You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering/ Technology). Even those who are in the final year of such programs can apply.

·         A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (5 years course) is necessary. You can apply even if you are in the final year.

·         Necessary to have a Bachelor’s degree of 4 year program in Science. Even those who are in the final year of such programs may apply.

·         You can have Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent. You can apply even if you are in the final year.

·         A 4 year integrated Master’s degree (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology is necessary. Those in the second or higher year of such program can apply.

·         A 5 year integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree in Engineering/Technology is required. Those in the fourth or higher year of such program may also apply.

·         You should have a 5 year integrated M.Sc. or 5 year integrated B.Sc. /M.Sc. degree. You can apply even if you are in the 5th year of the course.

·         Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. If you have completed section A of AMIE or equivalent of such professional courses, you are also eligible.

Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern for GATE 2018

·         GATE Exam for 2018 will be conducted Online.

·         It will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).

·         You will have a mix of NAT (Numerical Answer Type) and MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)

·         You will be asked 65 questions in a duration of 3 hours.

·         There will be negative Marking of 1/3 rd for 1 mark questions.

·         There will be negative marking of 2/3rd for 2 mark questions.

·         The GATE Exam will be a total of 100 marks.

GATE Virtual Calculator

Gate examination do not allow any physical calculator in the exam hall.The virtual calculator is the online calculator that will be  provided by gate though that calculator,you can solve numerical answer type questions

Preparation Strategy

1.First and the foremost thing is to clear your basic concept of that particular topic

2.Plan your daily and weekly time table. you can also make a work sheet of your daily work so that you can track your work

3.Decide study hours or else make a time table

4.Go through the syllabus

5.The most important one is to practice online mock test.

6.Practice as many variety of questions as you can.
